1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of anyone representing or working with Soul of the Junction SCIO. It helps ensure a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our work.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:

Contractors and facilitators

Anyone representing the charity in any capacity
It applies during:

Activities, events and meetings

Use of the community hall

Online and digital engagement

Informal or public representation of the charity

4. Expected standards of behaviour
You must:

Treat everyone with dignity and respect

5. Safeguarding & boundaries
Those working with children, young people or vulnerable adults must:

Follow the Safeguarding Policy at all times

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries

Never engage in behaviour that could be misinterpreted

Report any safeguarding concerns immediately
6. Equality, diversity & inclusion
You must:

Act in line with the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Challenge discrimination, bullying or harassment

Make reasonable adjustments where possible

Respect difference and lived experience
Discriminatory or oppressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
7. Health & safety
You must:

Take reasonable care of your own health and safety

Follow health & safety guidance and risk assessments

Use equipment correctly

Report hazards, accidents or near misses
8. Professional conduct
You must not:

Misuse your position for personal gain

Engage in abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour

Consume alcohol or substances while representing the charity

Bring the charity into disrepute
9. Online conduct & social media
When representing the charity online:

Communicate respectfully and responsibly

Protect confidentiality
-
Avoid posting content that could harm individuals or the charity

Follow the Social Media and Photography policies
10. Confidentiality & data protection
You must:

Keep personal and sensitive information confidential
-
Only share information on a need-to-know basis
-
Comply with UK GDPR and internal data protection procedures
11. Raising concerns
Anyone who witnesses or experiences behaviour that breaches this Code should raise the concern promptly. Concerns can be raised confidentially via:
Concerns will be taken seriously and addressed fairly.
12. Breach of the Code
Failure to follow this Code may result in:

Informal discussion or guidance

Additional training or supervision
-
Suspension or termination of involvement
Serious breaches may be referred to statutory bodies or OSCR where appropriate.
13. Review & responsibility
The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring this Code is implemented and reviewed.
This Code will be reviewed annually or sooner if required.
