Full Building Modernisation
Project 1 focuses on the revamp of the Carstairs Junction Community Building, bringing it up to modern standards while preserving its role at the heart of village life. The project includes essential repairs, improved accessibility, upgraded heating and insulation, and flexible internal spaces. This transformation will create a safe, energy-efficient and inclusive hub that supports community activities, learning and wellbeing for years to come.

What began as a community hall at risk of permanent closure is now evolving into a space rooted in sustainability, inclusion, and long-term community benefit — most recently marked by the installation of a 40.48kWp solar PV system with battery storage.
As a small, volunteer-led organisation in a rural area, this kind of recognition is incredibly meaningful. It reflects not only the progress made so far, but also the strength of collaboration — with partners, supporters, and our local community.
We believe community spaces can play a vital role in climate action, innovation, and wellbeing, and we’re proud to be contributing to that vision in Carstairs Junction.
